Smile!

Last weekend I was in sunny Florida for Stampin' Up!'s Leadership Conference and when I returned,  I had to shovel 18 inches of snow.  What a difference!  That's me posing with Stampin' Up!'s founder, Shelli Gardner.  Shelli is so gracious to pose with anyone who asks - her kindness, enthusiasm, creativity and realness shone through whenever she took the main stage.  I am so happy I chose to become a demonstrator and work for both her and her successful company.  I invite you to join too.

I will be sure to print this photo and others I took to put in my new Project Life album.  I find this memory keeping system to be so much better for me than traditional scrapbooking because it is quick, easy, fun and allows me to be as creative (or not creative) as my time allows.  All I need to do is put my photos in pockets and use the Project Life cards to journal on.  Easy!  Stampin' Up! has partnered with Project Life with exclusive albums, pocket sheets, card collections, stamps and accessories.  View the Stampin' Up! memory keeping products here.  To find out more about Project Life, you can visit Becky Higgins' site (she is the creator of Project Life) at http://beckyhiggins.com/project-life/.

Product of the Month

While at the Leadership Conference, I participated in two swaps.  Swaps are when you make multiples of a card design and swap it with others who did the same thing.  Now I have 60 new designs to share and copy.  Making 60 card fronts would have used up a lot of my Snail Adhesive, so I decided to try out the Tombo Multipurpose glue.  I loved it.  I didn't quite get all 60 of my swaps done with one bottle, but I came close.  There are two tips with this glue bottle - a fine tip for detailed work and a broad tip (like a glue stick) that lets you cover more space for the larger layers.   I urge you to give it a try - but beware, it you get it on your fingers - they'll be very sticky.  Dries clear.  Item #110755, $3.95.

These are the two swaps I made:

While in Florida I was able to have a sneak peek at the fabulous February & March’s kits (I’m really excited about both of them).  I wasn’t able to take a photograph, but I can describe them to you:

February’s kit is called “Layers of Gratitude”.  It makes 8 accordion thank you cards and 8 embellished boxes.  You can either use the box as an envelope for the thank you card, or use the box separately as a gift box (gift card or jewelry).  Two ink spots and nice background, patterned stamps (I forgot how many stamps).

March’s Kit is called “Sew You”.  It makes 9 cards of black & white patterns and you sew (pre-punched holes) some of the details.  There are 12 stamps with this kit!!!! And a black ink spot, needle and thread.  Don’t worry if you are not a sewer - easy!

Don't delay!  Sign up for either an ongoing monthly subscription or a pre-paid subscription by February 10 so you don't miss out on these two great kits!

Jason Wright was the featured speaker at the Leadership Conference.  What an amazing speaker!  He reminded us of just how important hand stamped cards, letters, and personal communications can be. He offered poignant examples of how the simple gesture of putting pen (or stamp) to paper can change lives for the better, and make a real difference. Jason is a New York Times Bestselling Author, Columnist, Motivational Speaker and his words today served as a great reminder of just what makes Stampin' Up! so wonderful. I am going to be sure to read his The Wednesday Letters novel.
